Special May 2001 Issue Competition Success Review (Rs. 25/-)

Success Starts With Your Strong Will

Dear Friend,

Success is not a matter of luck or genius.  Success depends on adequate preparation and indomitable determination.  All the performances of human act at which we look with Praise and Wonder, are instances of the resistless force of Perseverance.  Genius, that power which dazzles mortal eyes is oft but perseverance in disguise.  Countless efforts of itself implies, in spite of countless falls, the power to rise.  He wins the most who can the most endure, who faces issues, who never shirks and who always works.  He alone is great, who by life heroic, conquers fate.  The great have a way of conquering fate; they act as it were impossible to fail.  Adversity is the Prosperity of the great.  Kites rise against and not with the wind.

Think you can and you will.  Success begins with a fellow's will, it is all in a state of mind.  Life's battles do not always go with the stronger or faster man; but soon or late the man who wins is the one who thinks he can.  To think a thing impossible is to make it so.  Courage is victory, timidity is defeat.  All things are possible to him that believeth.  Never give up.  It is wiser and better always to hope, than ever despair.  The course of history shows that many a time a strong, earnest soul has swayed the destiny of nations.  Firm must be the will, patient the heart, passionate the aspiration to secure the fulfillment of some high and lofty purpose.

Look at the unique performance of Harbhajan Singh, the sensational new-find star in the Indian Cricket firmament.  Considered a doubtful starter even before the recent India-Australia series, the 20 year lad scripted a new history to justify his selection.  He became the first Indian to make a hat-trick with a record 32-wicket haul in Test Cricket outstripping Bishan Singh Bedi's tally(31).  This was all due to his dogged perseverance and resolve to do something for the country.  Likewise, Master blaster Sachin's scintillating 28 centuries catapulting him to the unique status of being the first batsman in the world with over 10,000 runs in ODI in his kitty also speak of the earnest will of the ace batsman to show results.  If your cricket heroes can do, you, too, can.  What is required is an unwavering determination and self-confidence.

Few ever fail by trying or few ever win who wait.  All of your sitting, sighing never will conquer fate.  Whatever path you are hewing, one thing is certain.  Either be up and doing or soon you will be down and done.  Fight when you have to fight.  Women are won by wooing, fortune is won the same way and to be up and doing is all, there is to the game.  There is always the battle to be fought before the victory is won.  When once thou have conceived and determined thy mission, within thy soul, let naught thee arrest thy steps.  Fail not for sorrow, falter not for sin, but move onward till the goal ye win.

Stand up to life and play the man; you can if you will but think you can.  The great were once as you.  You envy them their proud success.  It was won with gifts that you possess.  Press on, Surmount the rocky steps.  Climb boldly over the torrent's arch.  He fails alone who feebly creeps; he wins who dares the hero's march.  Be thou a hero.

Marching with you to victory.

                                                                                              Yours sincerely,

                                                                                                       Sd/-
                                                                               (Surendra Kumar Sachdeva)
