Flavours of India: Nadi astrology & navagraha temples | 7th February 201...

Lekshmi then visits the Thiruvenkadu - Budhan Sthalam, one of the navagraha temples around Kumbakonam. This is dedicated to Budhan or Mercury, and Lekshmi observes the ritualistic practices in place at the shrine, following which she pays a visit to the Kethu Sthalam in the village of Keezhaperumpallam, another navagraha temple. The presiding deity is Ketu, a shadow planet. Rounding off her trip to the temples of the nine planets or 'grahas', Lekshmi's next stop is the Chandran Sthalam at Thingalur (derived from Thingal, which in Tamil means Chandran).
