First interview for the Central Government Post at Madras. (Now Chennai)

             Before explaining the education ladder after SSLC 1970. the inner force compelled me to write about the first and most interesting part of  life to see the Madras City for attending an interview in the Meteorological Department. One fine morning I got the interview card from the department of Central Government.  The copy of the same was written by my father's own handwriting is still with me. I will give the copy as it in future for the ready reference..

            The date of interview with reference to the handwritten copy,  I states here as 11th March 1976 at 10 AM.  I clearly give the copy of the entire  para:-

Your name has been nominated by the Employment Exchange for the post of SENIOR OBSERVER in this department on Rs.350/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 330-10-280-RB-12-500-EB-15-560 plus usual allowances admissible to Central Government Employees.  You are therefore requested to appear for an interview at 10 AM hrs. I.S.T. on 11.03.76 at Government of India  India Meteorological Department  Regional Meteorological Centre 4, College Road Madras - 6.

2. While appearing for the interview you should bring all your original Certificates in proof of age, educational qualifications and experience. 

3. The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India or near India where this Department has or may establish an Officer, or Observatory.

4.  The age and educational qualifications prescribed for the post of SENIOR OBSERVER are as under:-

       1.Educational Qualifications  :  Graduate with Physics as one of the subjects.

       2. Age limits(on date of interview)  :  Minimum 20 years  Maximum 25 years relax-able in the case of            SC/ST and priority candidates according to rules in force.   

5.  Before appearing for the interview you should ensure that you possess the minimum Educational qualifications, satisfy the age limits prescribed above and also you are prepared to serve anywhere in India.

      No T.A. will be paid for the joining performed to you for attending for the interview.

Then the experiences of living in Madras City from the date of arrival.  Locating the interview premise. Well known experience of walking through the Main Road of City to locate the Office and getting help of a Police Constable to stay in his own home. After the interview- locating the bachelor residential room of Sri. Sreedharan and Sreekumar residential room in the Triplicane, Madras. Future living in the Madras City.  Visiting the Madras Secretariat where Sri Sreedharan is working as a Secretarial Assistant.. Visiting of  the Civil Supply Corporation office of Sri. Sreekumar.  Going for cinema, sight seeing, Madras Marina Beach, etc. in the next posts.  The taste of the milk from Tattu Kada, the taste of morris fruit etc.
