Super Bumper August 2010 CSR Issue Rs.60/- 50 Golden Years of CSR (Group) 1960-2010

Welcome to the Golden Jubilee Issue Of CSR

Dear Friend,

You will be happy to learn that India's top bureaucrats and diplomats, for the last so many decades, have read Competition Success Review and got selected.  They have read the same magazine which you are reading today.  Not only the top bureaucrats and diplomats, but officers serving in defence, railways, income tax, banks, and other prestigious areas, have also been reading Competition Success Review with a view to first getting into the services of their choice and then, updating their knowledge of the affairs--both relating to the country and the world--so that they can keep themselves abreast of day-to-day happenings.  We take immense pride in the fact that we are offering you the leading magazine of a group i.e., CSR Group, that was established 50 years.

In fact, CSR is the South Sea Pearl of CSR Group.  The very name of the magazine says everything.  As the word "success" is an inseparable part of the name of the magazine says everything to do with success.  In modern times, your success is determined by the extent to which you can come to terms with challenges posed by your peers in a  competition. You can achieve success in a competition only if you know what are the secrets of success.  Secrets are many--beginning with the planning and strategy of preparation to the selection of materials to giving final touch to preparation in order to achieve desired success at every stage of a competition.  It is from this point of view that CSR has proved its worth.  This periodical has been highlighting all that is required for success.  In other words, it highlights the very secrets of success.

We also pride ourselves upon the fact that CSR is the No. 1 magazine among all the monthlies and fortnightlies published in English in the country, as certified by Audit Bureau of Circulations.  It has been able to maintain its No. 1 status for the last 25 years.  Let us talk about being No. 1.  In the area of sports, stars like the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, the tennis ace Roger Federer or the chess wizard Viswanathan Anand have been consistently exhibiting the prowess to remain at the top.  When we talk about them, we are at once reminded of the fact that none of them became a high-flyer overnight.  Actually, years of consistent effort and perseverance resulted in making them what they are today.  None of them claims that he has achieved enviable success all of a sudden.  They never dreamt of instant and undeserved victory. In fact, they toiled very hard and fought every odd en route to success.

In many ways CSR is exceptional.  It is exceptional because it has traversed through five decades. It is exceptional also due to the fact that it has survived despite crisis in magazine publishing area.  It has not only survived but also maintained its No. 1 position, growing from strength to strength over a long period.  It has survived and grown because of its dedication and will to serve the posterity.  That is why, CSR is considered a pearl and a privilege by the young generation which approaches it as a dependable companion and guide.

We can be proud of what we give to the youth of India.  We are helping the not-so-privileged to come up in life.  And we are helping the youth living in for-flung areas of our country where there are not any top-ranking institutes, we are helping the needy.  It  is a large contribution from a small organization indeed, and a sufficient reason to meet our critics with down-to-earth and determined self-confidence.

Considering the overwhelming response, widespread recognition and appreciation of the Engineering Colleges Survey 2009 results, we are publishing the CSR-GHRDC Engineering Colleges Survey 2010 results in this issue.

Wishing and working for your success.

                                                                                        Yours sincerely,

                                                                                                 Sd/-
                                                                               (Surendra Kumar Sachdeva)
